"Honestly, I could probably write an essay about this at this point. Basically, this concept tape is my attempt to repackage my trials and tribulations of trying to figure out the person I want the world to know me as. I soon discovered in the beginning of the academic year that different people bring out different shit within you. That being said, it's really up to you to figure out which one really is you. Maybe we're all just walking conglomerates.

Maybe your man is wylin' a little bit and should just shut the fuck up sometimes. I dunno man, I don't have the answers.

What I do know is this. Hip-hop as a genre is going through a bit of an identity crisis at the moment as well, and, I think, if anything, this tape serves as a snapshot of everything out there right now.

Structurally, the tape is meant to mirror what I was going through as my first semester progressed. It starts from a super confident place, and then, continues to plummet down to the lowest of the low. In the end, tragedy turns to triumph as I come back to the place I fell from."
